so long, old blog

April 29, 2010

This is my last post on this blog. It’s been a great site, but the new blogsite I’ve put together is even more awesome. This blog will remain up and in addition all the posts can be found at the new site. Come on over and take a look!

For anyone who subscribes to the email updates, you will have to re-subscribe to the new blog. Sorry for the inconvenience!

sneak preview

April 22, 2010

I’m very close to having my new website/blog up and running. In the meantime, I wanted to show my beautiful new logo that Tiffany at OnThe Spot Studio whipped up for me. She also designs the greatest FB/Twitter/RSS buttons and those are on the way as well. I know how important good design is and I’m so happy I finally hired a *real* designer to create an identity for me. If you are looking to do so as well, get in touch with Tiffany ASAP!

I’m 2010 official

April 7, 2010

That’s right. You can now follow me on Facebook (thanks for the photo, Elisabeth and Michael) and Twitter…inasmuch as I can keep up with it all! I’m slowly working my way back into shooting and blogging more. A few albums to design, some upcoming family photo shoots, packing and heading back to Idaho, and wedding season starting up again in early May. Looking forward to all of it! Hope you follow along…

Available for Cincinnati photo shoots

March 30, 2010

After almost 8 weeks of maternity leave, I am ready to start shooting again! I’ll be in the Cincinnati area for the next month. The weather is turning spectacular and would be ideal for family photo shoots. Please contact me if you would like pricing information or to schedule a session. I’ll be heading back to Idaho May 1, so there’s not much time left here!

Love Songs #8 – Billy Bragg

March 30, 2010

This is a sweet song. I love that he thought to write a love song about how he can’t quite remember the details of first meeting his wife. I’m sure most people have these same blurry memories. I know I wish I could have taken in that moment a little more myself. Alas, how were we to know??

The Fourteenth of February by Billy Bragg

I wish that I could remember the first moment that we met
If only I could remember that sweet moment that we met
If I knew then that I
Would spend the rest of my life with you
I imagine I would have held your gaze a little longer
When first our eyes met

Did it rain or did sunshine attend out first meeting?
What words were said? What weight given to that first greeting?
My diary doesn’t help
I don’t even mention your name until that summer
When bloomed the
Seed sown on the first day that we met

I know the date, I know the place where in happened
Yet in my mind the scene I recall is imagined
As we grow old I’m sure
There will be moments that we will not forget
But I would
Remember something of the moment that we met

Owen in a nutshell

March 21, 2010

This is Owen. He’s 3 1/2 years old. He’s full of sweetness and loves to have fun and laugh and play. He’s got the cutest run, like a baby fawn just getting used to his long legs. He can write most letters in the alphabet and almost has the song down pat. He prefers to draw on a blank piece of paper rather than in a coloring book. He loves the spotlight and can entertain a group of adults. He loves to hold his mama’s hand. He’s the best cuddler on the planet. He insists on 3 books before bed. He’ll eat his broccoli, but would prefer to eat sweets for every meal. He’s shy for about 5 minutes or until you ask if he likes Spiderman…then he’s your best friend. He would like to wear sweatpants every day. He knows how to share. He adores his little brother. He’s the light of my life and makes me proud every day. He’s my boy, and I’m the luckiest person in the world that I get to be his mom.
